Ana Forrest, creator of Forrest Yoga, has a unique and powerful philosophy and approach toward yoga.  Ana has spent 30 years developing Forrest Yoga specifically to address current day stresses and challenges both physical and emotional.  Forrest Yoga uses intense pose sequences, compassionately taught, to develop skills in awakening each of the senses. It teaches you to bring aliveness, using breath, into every cell of your body igniting your passion for living. Forrest Yoga invites people of all levels of fitness and all ages to enjoy the benefits of yoga. As a beginner to Forrest Yoga, you learn to breathe deeply and connect in feeling with your body.  As you progress, you get proficient at safely tailoring each pose to work best for you; particularly with physical and emotional injuries.  Learning to work honestly at your edges, you develop effective tools to deal with fear and struggle. This makes it possible for integrity, self awareness and playful curiosity to become part of your daily life. Forrest Yoga does not require strength or flexibility; it only requires that you bring a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and respond honestly. As you advance in Forrest Yoga, step by step, you learn to intelligently ride your breath into the exhilarating advanced poses. In addition, you learn to exercise your emotional body through the full spectrum of feeling.

Ana Forrest Workshops in Denver | March 2014

Thank you to everyone who came to the weekend of Ana Forrest workshops this March. It was so great to see how strong the Forrest Yoga community is in Denver. It is always so wonderful to have Ana right here in our community, bringing her strong ability to speak in a way that is direct, unedited, raw, real and truthful. This unique quality about Ana and her teaching is one of the many things that sets her apart. With non-judgment and honesty, she brings attention to the present moment, giving people the opportunity to take responsibility for their "stuff" and not space out, in yoga or in life. This practice takes courage and can heighten our awareness on all levels, consequently making us more connected to our own truths, our spirits and each other.

I am always honored to assist Ana, I absolutely love supporting all of the students in going deeper in their practice.  Thank you so much for being present for this weekend. Check out some of the photos below, and we look forward to Ana's next visit!
